In addition to the airport, we have a public, 18-hole golf course right here at Pine Mountain Lake, as well as horse stables. Our town of Groveland boasts the longest continuously operating saloon in the state, The Iron Door Bar and Grill. There are many quaint shops to browse through, and we even have our own Tea Shop if you just want to relax with a cup of tea and a scone or perhaps a full English Tea luncheon. We also have souvenir shops, clothing shops and a quilt store with beautiful fabrics and notions, as well as craft items and supplies for fans of the needle arts. If you are interested in local history, Groveland has its own Museum which is right next door to the library.
Every summer Groveland offers movies in the park every Saturday evening. The movies are all family-rated and the rates are affordable, so you can take the entire family for an evening of fun and entertainment. In mid-September Groveland pulls out all the stops for our Chamber-of-Commerce sponsored 49er Festival and Parade which celebrates our mining town and pioneer heritage. In addition to the parade, there’s an auction, vendor booths, an airplane fly-over and a chili cook-off…lots of fun for free!
Of course, the entrance to Yosemite National Park is only about 30 minutes from our door. The magnificent mountain peaks and waterfalls that will leave you positively breathless are around virtually every turn in the road.
